Heartlight’s desire is to help families caught in difficult positions with their teens. When a child’s stay at home becomes unhealthy, and placement outside the home is necessary, Heartlight offers a place of hope for parents and the teen. The backbone and blessing of Heartlight is its dedicated relational staff that serves as examples to kids, families, and the Heartlight community.
Should you desire to become a part of our team, please review the brochures and videos listed below. We’d be happy to discuss your involvement with us and look forward to talking to you about how you can join our Heartlight community.
Masters Level Counselor Position
We’re looking for some great counselors to join our staff. They’ll have the opportunity to work with kids at Heartlight, the country’s finest residential counseling center, and be a part of a team that strives for excellence in all aspects of helping struggling teens and their families.
If you are a Masters Level Counselor and think you might be a “fit”, look over this brochure, or pass it on to someone who wants to be involved in offering hope to parents and teens searching for help in a broken world.
Residential Position
Living with other staff and a small group of kids may not sound like much. But the time invested into the lives of each of these kids, changes their destructive patterns of life so that their family is put back together, and their future relationships can flourish without the added burden of unresolved adolescent issues and problems.
Heartlight believes that the Christian life is more caught than taught. So the atmosphere of campus life is set up to establish and form relationships. And through those relationships, staff have the opportunity to share their wisdom to residents. They pick it up by their observation of the staff’s life, reflection of that staff person’s lifestyle and comments, and through experiences that all have together. This happens not only through programmed events, but through the daily interaction with caring adults that surround them.
It’s through that interaction that staff get to display a love that shouts “There’s nothing you can do to make me love you more, and there’s nothing you can do to make me love you less.” It’s through this type of interaction that relationships are built, direction is given, hope is expressed, and lives are changed.
This is truly a life-on-life experience for staff and residents. Its relational involvement (not as a friend, and not as a parent) that holds to boundaries, loves when someone least expects it, and offers a wisdom that is backed up by an exposed lifestyle.
When people say there’s more to life, they mean this. A job at Heartlight is more than just a job where you get a paycheck every other week. It’s an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of residents, and usher in a hope for the future.
