The goal of the daily feature is to provide insights and encouragement to parents and grandparents of teens and pre-teens, youth workers, teachers and pastors. Parenting Today’s Teens is hosted by Mark Gregston, who for 30 years has been helping parents deal with their kids during the often turbulent teenage years. Gregston is a speaker, seminar leader, author and the director of the Heartlight Residential Counseling Center. He is a popular contributor to the parenting sections of Crosswalk.com and Christianity.com and his Heartlight residential program for troubled teens is recommended by Focus on the Family's Troubled With website.

Heartlight Ministries, the organization behind the feature, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.
The feature has 3 different background music bed options: 1) Inspirational, 2) Contemporary, or 3) Voice only (no music bed). Jon Rivers' booming voice closes the feature, though his name is not mentioned.
