Blake Nelson, LCCA, Chief Operating Officer,
is a native of the East Texas area and has been a part of the Heartlight staff since May of 1999. Because he has held positions in several different areas within the program throughout that time span, Blake is no stranger to the structure of Heartlight. Blake brings enthusiasm and excitement to the staff, as well as experience in helping families as they struggle through difficult times. Blake’s
boldness and sense of confidence with Christ is displayed daily
in the way that he relates with both the kids and the staff members.
In his free time Blake enjoys hunting, wakeboarding, and a variety
of other sports. Blake is married to Melissa Nelson, our Admissions
Director, and has two daughters, Maile and Macie.
Jan
Gregston, LCCA, Director of Services,
is the key person for the administrative functions of Heartlight.
Jan oversees the financial and insurance arenas, as well as human
resource, admission and academics. Jan has the pleasure and blessing
of coordinating and managing a highly qualified and diligent team
of employees. Jan's insight regarding the hurt residents and their families
experience as well as her willingness to provide a listening ear,
makes her a comfort to those Heartlight serves. Her wisdom concerning
the day-to-day Heartlight living experience is a valuable resource.
Pam
Mitchell, Director of Administration, has the ability to handle many tasks at one time, which prove that she is well suited for her job as well as the atmosphere at Heartlight. Pam began to work at Heartlight in September of 2000 and assists in the areas of human resource, insurance, and billing of family expense accounts, as well as the miscellaneous extras. Pam's bright smile, along with her willingness to give and serve, makes her the right person to fill this all-encompassing job. Pam is an East Texas native, having grown up in Gilmer, and has an Associate's degree from Kilgore College. Pam and her husband, Scott, a coach at Hallsville High School have two beautiful daughters, Mollie and Katie.
Mary Hopkins, Financial Secretary, has served Heartlight since January of 2005. Mary holds an Associates Degree in Business from Kilgore College. She is no stranger to the East Texas Area. Mary and her husband Weldon have lived in Hallsville for 26 years. They were blessed with two fine sons, Brian and Chris. Prior to joining the team at Heartlight, Mary was employed by an orthodontist office for 15 years. She is very talented and has several hobbies that keep her busy including gardening, decorating, and flower arranging. Mary’s bubbly and warm personality put others at ease around her, and her witty humor always seems to bring a smile to their faces. Her goal is to share the love of God in her interactions with others.
Alison Hill, Receptionist, is
from here in Hallsville, TX. Before coming to Heartlight in November of 2005, Alison worked at an optical store in Longview. She and her husband, Michael love working with young people and are active in working with their youth group at their church. Alison has two children, Lindsay and Toby. In her free time, Alison likes working in her yard, walking, camping, and shopping. Alison’s servants’ heart
and love for other people make her a joy to be around and excellent
at her position at Heartlight.
Dave Fetherlin, Director of Development, began working with teenagers in Colorado Springs as a youth pastor and then moved to Longview in 2007 to pursue a graduate degree at LeTourneau University. Introduced to Heartlight by his wife, Deb, Dave served at Heartlight as the Academic Coordinator in 2008-2009. He and Deb have a son, Samuel, and in his spare time Dave enjoys singing karaoke rap songs and tending to his collection of sea shells that he keeps scattered on beaches throughout the world.
Sam Sheeley, Director of Marketing Services, is from Jacksonville, Illinois. He attended Illinois Wesleyan University where he earned a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. Before he moved to Texas, Sam was working in marketing for a small company. God placed a burden on his heart to make a difference in the lives of kids which led him to pursue the job at Heartlight. Sam's fun and easy-going personality allow him to adapt well to new situations and relate positively to the residents. In his free time, Sam enjoys music and spending time with friends and family.
Amy Marion, Heartlight Help Line Staff, is from Columbia, South Carolina. She attended Columbia International University where she earned her degree in Psychology and Bible. Amy’s past experience with young people includes mentoring freshman college girls and working as a nanny. Her passion for coming alongside struggling teens and helping them get to a better place in life comes from her experiences and her desire to be used by God. Amy’s relational style and upbeat personality make people around her feel welcome and comfortable. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, reading, cooking, and photography.
