Successful Seminars / Before the Event

Forming a Committee

It is very important to get an adequate number of dedicated people involved in the planning of the event in order for it to be successful. Publicity, registrations, refreshments, atmosphere, and technical needs are a few aspects that must be considered.

Selecting a Date

We would suggest finding a date that would give you at least 8 weeks to prepare and publicize. In order to maximize attendance, take into consideration the dates of athletic, church, and school events, and holidays.

Selecting a Location

When choosing a location be sure that it is accessible to the targeted audience and unlikely to be changed after publicity announcements have been distributed.

Creating a Marketing Package

We offer a marketing package that includes color coordinated, attractive posters, brochures, bulletin inserts and a DVD. Using this package allows consistency between and excellence in publicity and event materials.

The DVD is a 90-second presentation that can easily be shown at a Sunday morning service, best accompanied by a brochure or bulletin insert to remind the target group of the information given.

A main contact person should be listed on all marketing items. This person will field all questions about the seminar.

Many people promote these opportunities as a collective effort between churches and as a cooperative ministry from various ministries within the church. The Educational Department may come together with the Youth Ministry, the Family Ministry or be advertised as a church wide event.

If you desire to market your event on your local radio station, please let Amanda Childress know, as each ad must be designed for your particular event.
