Admission Process The first step is to inquire, either online or by phone at 903-668-2173. Please do this before sending in any forms. If it appears after talking to our staff that your teenager may be a good candidate for the Heartlight program, it is important for us to receive a detailed explanation of the current situation and background information through the use of the Admission Application. This, along with any other psychological or counseling reports, is helpful in providing an accurate perspective of the present and past problems that are contributing to the need for your teenager being placed in an alternative living environment. Please provide additional information on the Medical History Form and the Adolescent Application. Please fax, e-mail or mail these back to Heartlight as soon as possible, along with a picture of your teenager. An interview will then be scheduled for you to visit Heartlight, so you can meet the staff, and we can meet you and your teenager. Then, an interview will be scheduled on-campus after all information has been received. Heartlight needs to make an adequate assessment of the information concerning your teenager prior to your Heartlight visit. An interview at the Heartlight facility in East Texas is required. Much can be learned by our staff counselors from intereacting with you and your teenager face to face. Heartlight operates on a first come, first served basis when filling vacancies, so your promptness in sending material back to us, and setting up an interview, is paramount. Know that there are a number of folks here that are praying for God's direction about being involved with you in this current situation. in line with your budget and your child's needs. |
