Admission Process The first step is to inquire, either online or by phone at 903-668-2173. Please do this before sending in any forms. We will then call you to discuss our program, the costs and so forth. If Heartlight is not a good fit for your child, we will immediately direct you to other reputable programs that may be more appropriate for your child and your family finances. If after talking to our admissions staff it appears that your teenager may be a good candidate for the Heartlight program, we will need detailed explanation of the teenager's current situation and background information as a next step. This can be submitted via our online application forms. CLICK THERE TO ACCESS THE ONLINE APPLICATIONS FORMS >> These forms, along with any other psychological or counseling reports, are helpful in providing an accurate perspective of the present and past problems that are contributing to the need for your teenager being placed in an alternative living environment. The 3-form packet includes a Medical History Form and the Adolescent Application. Please fax, e-mail or mail the 3 documents to Heartlight as soon as possible, along with a picture of your teenager. An interview will then be scheduled for you to visit Heartlight, so you can meet the staff, and we can meet both you and your teenager. Heartlight needs to make an adequate assessment of the information concerning your teenager prior to your Heartlight visit, which is why the interview on campus is required. Much can be learned by our staff counselors from intereacting with you and your teenager face to face. Heartlight operates on a first come, first served basis when filling vacancies, so your promptness in sending material back to us, and setting up an interview, is paramount.
