    PODCAST SCRIPT:

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “Good fences make good neighbors.”  And they help make good kids too.

Parents today want to make their teens feel important, valuable, included and blessed.  But without proper boundaries in place, those feelings can all too easily morph into a sense of entitlement and even disrespect in the teen years.

So be sure to keep your teen’s march toward independence in check by establishing clear boundaries, including the all important need for maintaining respect in your home.  Let them know in advance what your rules are in regard to respect, as well as the consequences for stepping all over those rules.

Walking with your teen is fun and productive; but being walked on by them is not.
