    PODCAST SCRIPT:

To escape troubles or conflict, adults can change jobs or move away, but kids don’t have that option. They have to make their stand.

Teens who are can already be overly emotional feel captive when they run into problems at home or school. They can’t just walk away when they feel attacked, so the “fight” part of the human “fight or flight” response tends to kick in.  It can look like rebellion, but it is more like self-preservation to them, and it can affect their entire attitude.

That’s why parents should take the time to understand the root cause that is driving their seemingly rebellious behavior. Understanding why your teen feels the need to fight, may prevent a more serious flight.
