    PODCAST SCRIPT:

Sometimes parents shelter their teens too much, so they don’t know how to deal with life when they are out on their own.

Some time ago scientists created a dome in the Arizona desert with everything necessary to sustain life. But to their surprise, when the trees in the Biosphere Two dome grew up, they all bent over and cracked in half.  You see, wind normally rocks trees back and forth, causing tiny cracks to open up and then heal with sap. But without the wind’s buffeting, the trees were weak.

Likewise, the winds of life are a necessary component to strengthen our teenagers.  Sheltering them too much now, can cause them to be weak and fall over later in life.
