  • Shaming and Blaming (3-18-2011)

    PODCAST SCRIPT:

It’s vital that parents of teens and adult children keep communication lines open, no matter how off track their child has become.

When your teen has made mistakes and lost his way, it is no time to push him even further away with “I told you so’s.”  Leave the shaming and blaming out of your conversation.

Even if your child is off living on their own, they want your time and attention, though they may seem to resist it. Mostly they are looking for someone to just listen and not judge. So, short of compromising your own values, be willing to do be there and do whatever it takes to lead them back to the right path in life.
