    PODCAST SCRIPT:

The gap between what teens want out of life and the reality of what their future may look like has never been greater.

With the advent of the “Self-Esteem Movement” in the 80’s, kids were encouraged to settle for nothing less than being exactly what they want to be. Feeling entitled to stardom or a wildly fulfilling job; many are left disappointed and despondent with their real-life job choices in their early twenties.

Parents can help reduce such unrealistic goals by starting early to steer their children toward what they are good at and away from what they are not. While it is true that anyone can do anything, some are better at some things, and that’s where their career goals should be steered.
