    PODCAST SCRIPT:

Years ago I learned how to use horse handling to teach life lessons to teenagers.

When kids get on a horse for the first time, chances are they will fall off. When that happens, no one criticizes their riding skills. Instead, we encourage them to brush themselves off and get back on. They may fall off again. And we encourage them to get on again.

During this process, the horse doesn’t change, but the rider eventually learns how to better handle the horse.

Likewise, we can encourage teenagers when they fall off track in life. Though they’ll likely fall again, we can help them back up again. Encouragement, not criticism, helps teach them how to better handle life.
