    PODCAST SCRIPT:

Ever hear your teenager say, “You just don’t love me!”? It’s one of many manipulative statements teenagers use to get their way.

Teenagers have a whole quiver of arrows to launch at parents to get their own way.  They may argue, gripe, cry, throw tantrums, pout, or withdraw from the family.

Or, they’ll say things like “You’re being old-fashioned,” or, “I’ll never have friends if you don’t let me go,” or, “My friends parents are nicer than you, and they aren’t even Christians.”

But don’t be fooled into responding or defending yourself. A wise parent will instead disengage to show the teen that manipulation will do nothing to ruffle your feathers or to accomplish what they are hoping for.
