    PODCAST SCRIPT:

I like how Buddy Scott describes conflicts between the personalities of parents and teenagers in his book, “Relief for Hurting Parents.”

Buddy Scott says, “Having children is like going on a blind date.” Mismatches in personalities often occur. But unlike a blind date, you can’t just walk away.  And neither can you try to change the basic personality of your children.

If you’re normally calm, cool and collected, and your child is boisterous, there is nothing wrong with either personality – they are just different. If you’re scholarly and your teen is more creative, don’t try to change them to be as scholarly as you are. Putting your children down for having a different personality can do great emotional damage.
