    Having a good memory will help you when it comes to proper discipline with your children.

    It’ s easy to get upset when your son breaks a window or your daughter puts a dent in the car, but think back to the mistakes you made as a teenager. Maybe you stayed out too late or did something so stupid that you still think about it today.

    Remembering your own mistakes will put your teenager’s mistakes into proper perspective. Recalling your own struggles will help you be reasonably patient and discerning in regard to the correction that must be applied to prevent such behavior from your teen in the future. After all, the definition of being a child is to be immature.
