    PODCAST SCRIPT:

Teenagers can be overly trusting of one another, so they fail to see how easily a parent’s trust can be lost.

I tell teens that trust is a cherished commodity that is earned over time, but can be lost in a second.

When a teenager claims, “You just don’t trust me!” I take a minute to point out the reasons why they are not trusted, but I don’t stop there.  I tell them how they can rebuild that trust.

Teens need to know that trust is an open door to more freedom, but it is not a revolving door.  When it is shut due to misbehavior, it isn’t easily reopened.  It takes time and effort to crack it open again.
